In January 2006, Handel divided itself into two teams, each having 50% of each department. The teams represented the Union Pacific and the Central Pacific railroads on a new model railroad scaled to match the historic building of the transcontinental railroad of the 1860’s. Track, towns, and engineering feats such as tunnels and bridges represented real life challenges in RiteTrack development projects, RiteTrack implementation, sales, operations and every other part of Handel that drives Handel’s success. In the end, each team was successful in completing its goals. However, the Central Pacific Team was able to sustain a lead in the second half of the year, finally winning a cash prize to be distributed as the team feels fit.
