On Friday December 18th we held the first ever RiteTrack Challenge. The RiteTrack Challenge is a forum for showcasing innovative solutions built on the RiteTrack Platform. This first year was a pilot only open to Handel employees. Next year we plan to open the RiteTrack Challenge to customers and partners as well. This year we had three contestants:
The Handel Deployment Team, consisting of Frankie Clem, Josh Becker, Travis Waters, and Ben Sims, entered with “RiteTrack Learning Management System” showing how RiteTrack can be used for managing distance learning projects.
Mike Perrenoud, Director of Technical Support entered with “AirTrack” showcasing how RiteTrack can be used to manage airports including flight schedules, passengers, vendors, and more.
The last entrant was the Product Development team consisting of Michael Stephens, Sonja Rowley, and Ryan Roan. They presented “CoffeeTrack”, a comprehensive system for managing all aspects of brewing coffee.
Watch the CoffeeTrack solution. RiteTrack will now brew your coffee.
Entrants were scored on several criteria including innovation, utilization of the RiteTrack platform, thinking outside the box, and integrating with third-party hardware and software. In the end, the judges had a hard time declaring a definitive winner as each contestant demonstrated strengths in every category. This year, the $5K award was split between the three entries.
In the following weeks we will have more in-depth blogs on each entry. We are already declaring this first annual RiteTrack Challenge a big success as it has accomplished several things:
- It opens our minds and eyes to new ideas of what can be done with the RiteTrack framework.
- It allows our employees to experiment with new innovation.
- It enables potential commercialization of select ideas in future RiteTrack projects.
We are already looking forward to the 2010 RiteTrack Challenge. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you are interested in signing up.
