Even Brande is the president and CEO of Handel Information Technologies, a technology company that provides software solutions to tribal, local, and state government agencies. Originally from Oslo, Norway, Even moved to the United States in 1988 and finished his Bachelors of Business Administration at the University of Wyoming in 1991. He received an MBA from the University of Wyoming in 1993. Prior to founding Handel in 1997, Even held executive positions with Aspen Tree Software and completed the Management Trainee program at Tandy Corporation. He is also a graduate of the 2006 Class of Leadership Wyoming. He has served on several boards including the State of Wyoming Information Technology Policy Council, Wyoming Technology Business Center, Laramie Economic Development Corporation (LEDC), State of Wyoming Innovative Education Council, University of Wyoming College of Business Advisory Board, and University of Wyoming Department of Computer Science Advisory Board. Even is a sought after speaker and frequently speaks at technology conferences on topics involving government and technology. Even is passionate about helping government agencies become more efficient and delivering better services to their constituents through better use of technology. In his spare time, Even likes to spend time with his wife and their three children at their ranch on the Wyoming/Colorado border. Even is also passionate about music, running, cross-country skiing, and anything outdoors.
Terje Vangbo grew up in Oslo, Norway. He and his two-year-older brother Svein participated in many sports, in particular soccer and cross-country skiing. After finishing high school, Terje fulfilled a mandatory commitment to the military service in the Norwegian Army where he was a member of the ski troupe of His Majesty the King‘s Guard in Oslo. Terje’s skiing abilities brought him to the U.S.and to a skiing scholarship at the University of Wyoming. While there he was elected to the All American Ski Team and was named UW student athlete of the year. Terje earned his bachelors degree in general business as well as a masters in business administration from UW.
After finishing his studies in 1978, he returned to his native Norway where he married, raised a son and daughter, and pursued his career in the computer and software industries. Early in his career Terry worked for IBM, Price Waterhouse and ABB, and in 1991 he joined the Swedish enterprise resource planning (ERP) company, Industrial and Financial Systems (IFS) where he held a series of high-level management positions and served as the chairman of the board for five years. For a 15-year period IFS grew from a small, privately held ERP vendor in Scandinavia with less than 100 employees to a global ERP vendor with more than 3,000 employees that is listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. Terje created and advanced the Norwegian part of IFS from zero to 300 employees over a seven-year period. In addition to his other roles in IFS, Terje was a member of the IFS Corporate Executive Team, and from 1996 he was responsible for developing a presence for IFS in North America. In 1999 Terje married his college sweetheart Sandra, moved to the U.S. and served as president of IFS North America. Under Terje‘s leadership IFS North America’s revenue grew from about $15 million to about $85 million over a three-year period. While serving as president of IFS North America, Terje helped secure a number of large customers for IFS including GE Aircraft Engines, Lockheed Martin, National Semiconductor, Goodrich Aerospace, Rockwell Automation, general Dynamics, L3 Communications, and Sikorsky.
Terje joined the Handel Team in October 2010 as Chief Operations Officer, and his main focus will be on preparing Handel for future growth.
When not working at Handel, Terje can be found enjoying outdoor activities like bicycling, cross-country skiing, or hunting for antiques with his wife Sandra.
A native of Ames, Iowa, Joe attended the University of Iowa and graduated with a B.S. in Business and Environmental Management in 1999. After working at different opportunities for a few years out of college, gaining valuable on the job business experience, Joe returned to the education scene to pursue his J.D. at the Law School at Drake University. While attending Drake, he assisted the Drake Legal Clinic in the development of their own in-house case management software called Darrow Attorney, a Microsoft Access based system. Joe left law school to pursue an opportunity to open his own business and pursue his entrepreneurial dreams. Starting his own bar and digital gaming center, Joe was looking to tap into the growing digital entertainment industry and centers popping up around the country. After a year in business, Joe sold his interest in the business to his partner and took a short break to refresh and look for a new challenge to tackle.
Joe joined the Handel team as a Deployment and Customer Support Specialist in November of 2006. As Handel looked to expand and begin preparations for it, Joe’s experience in business and law allowed him to assist Handel as the Director of Customer Success to restructure the company for further, quick growth. As Handel continues to grow, Joe has shifted to become the Vice-President of Business Development, and continues to manage Sales, Marketing, Partner program, and Solutions departments. When not working at Handel, Joe enjoys spending time fly fishing, running, and sharing all the wonderful outdoor activities Laramie has to offer with the love of his life Cassandra, who he married in September 2008.
