Even Brande, President and CEO

Even Brande, was born and raised in Oslo, Norway as the youngest of four children. After graduating from High School in Oslo he completed his required service in the Norwegian Army. Following a life-long dream inspired by his older brother, he came to the United States in 1988 where he enrolled at the University of Wyoming. In 1991 he graduated from the UW College of Business with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. After graduation, Even was hired as a management trainee for Tandy Corporation. In 1992 he returned to UW and in 1993 received his MBA. Upon graduation Even was hired as a Customer Services Executive for Aspen Tree Software, a national leader in computerized employee selection. In 1995 he was promoted to become Marketing Director at Aspen Tree and was instrumental in securing several significant clients including Sitel Corporation, Northwest Airlines, and AOL. In 1997 he founded Handel Information Technologies, Inc., a market leader in enterprise software for human services agencies. As the President and CEO of Handel, Even is involved with sales and marketing, finances, and most importantly, overseeing the strategic planning for the company. Even is also a 2006 Graduate of Leadership Wyoming. Even serves on several boards including the Governor’s Information Technology Policy Council, the Historic Laramie Depot, and is the current chair of the Leadership Wyoming Alumni Board. In his spare time you may find him out running, hiking, fly-fishing, cross-country skiing, or playing guitar with his band Bas-Mati. He also loves spending time at his ranch on the Wyoming/Colorado border where he thrives on fixing fences, logging, and spending time with his family. Even lives in Laramie, WY with his wife Anne and their three children, Emily, Laura, and Nicholas.

       
Rich Miles, Chief Operating Officer

Rich began as a software engineer at Handel in 2003, then joined the customer support team in early 2005 and was quickly promoted to director of customer relations.  Because of his experience in both customer support and development, Rich took on the role of VP of Operations, overseeing all aspects of technology at Handel. Rich graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in mathematics and realized (while pursuing his degree) that computer programming was his true passion. Before joining Handel, Rich programmed and configured a database for an oil field in central Wyoming and was a programmer at IDES, a company that develops databases for the plastics industry. You will find working with Rich, that he has superb technical skills and is a strong communicator.

       
Joe Nevshemal, Vice-President of Business Development

A native of Ames, Iowa, Joe attended the University of Iowa and graduated with a B.S. in Business and Environmental Management in 1999. After working at different opportunities for a few years out of college, gaining valuable on the job business experience, Joe returned to the education scene to pursue his J.D. at the Law School at Drake University. While attending Drake, he assisted the Drake Legal Clinic in the development of their own in-house case management software called Darrow Attorney, a Microsoft Access based system. Joe left law school to pursue an opportunity to open his own business and pursue his entrepreneurial dreams. Starting his own bar and digital gaming center, Joe was looking to tap into the growing digital entertainment industry and centers popping up around the country. After a year in business, Joe sold his interest in the business to his partner and took a short break to refresh and look for a new challenge to tackle .

Joe joined the Handel team as a Deployment and Customer Support Specialist in November of 2006. As Handel looked to expand and begin preparations for it, Joe's experience in business and law allowed him to assist Handel as the Director of Customer Success to restructure the company for further, quick growth. As Handel's continue to grow, Joe has shifted to become the Vice President of Business Development, and continues to manage Sales, Marketing, Partner program, and Solutions departments. When not working at Handel, Joe enjoys spending time fly fishing, running, and sharing all the wonderful outdoor activities Laramie has to offer with the love of his life Cassandra, who he married in September 2008.
