The Wassamasaw Tribe of Varnertown Indians has selected RiteTrack by Handel Information Technologies to support their Enrollment program, providing a secure, flexible, and affordable system designed to meet the Tribe’s unique operational needs.
Enrollment systems play a critical role in tribal governance, supporting accurate record-keeping, voting eligibility, communication, and long-term planning. By investing in a modern enrollment management platform, the Wassamasaw Tribe is strengthening its administrative infrastructure while exercising tribal sovereignty and preparing for long-term sustainability.
Implementation Overview
The Wassamasaw Tribe will implement RiteTrack’s Enrollment system to manage member records, track active and inactive status, and support reporting and communication needs. The Tribe chose RiteTrack’s hosted solution, eliminating the need for in-house IT resources while ensuring their data is securely managed in an enterprise-grade data center.
Protecting tribal data sovereignty was a key consideration in the Tribe’s decision. The hosted RiteTrack solution ensures enrollment data remains securely managed under the Tribe’s control, with clearly defined governance over access, use, and reporting.
The implementation will begin with Enrollment functionality, with plans to add the RiteTrack Portal at a later phase, allowing for expanded access and engagement as the program evolves.
Implementation Objectives
Throughout the evaluation process, the Tribe worked closely with Handel to identify a solution that balanced functionality, affordability, and long-term sustainability. After reviewing available options, the Tribe determined that RiteTrack best aligned with both their operational requirements and budget.
The implementation is intended to establish a centralized Enrollment system that supports accurate record-keeping, clearly differentiates active and inactive members for voting eligibility reporting, and enables targeted communication with specific groups, including clans and other member categories. The system will also support internal governance processes by improving documentation for enrollment decisions, verifying voting eligibility, and producing accurate reports to support tribal elections, leadership processes, and compliance requirements. Additionally, RiteTrack will empower staff to report on Enrollment data using Excel exports, reducing reliance on technical support while improving day-to-day efficiency.
