Upper Sioux Community Selects RiteTrack to Support Tribal Court Operations and Launch Court Information Portal
By Tiffany Edmonds
Upper Sioux Community has selected RiteTrack, a customizable case management platform developed by Handel Information Technologies, to support the operations of its Tribal Court. By implementing RiteTrack’s Tribal Court and Portal Modules, the court will modernize how case information is managed, improve access to court information, and centralize records that have historically been maintained across multiple formats.
Implementation Overview
Upper Sioux Community will implement the RiteTrack Tribal Court Module to support the management and tracking of civil cases and traffic violations. While the court does not hear criminal cases, it does track charges related to traffic violations and manages associated fines, fees, restitution, and community service obligations for its civil cases.
The Tribe will also implement the RiteTrack Portal to provide both public and secure access to court information. Through the public portal, community members will be able to view the court’s public hearings calendar. A private portal, requiring login credentials, will allow registered users to view information related to their cases, including involved cases, charges or offenses, hearings, involved parties, case documents, fines and fees, restitution, and community service.
Implementation Objectives
Through the implementation of RiteTrack, Upper Sioux Community will establish a centralized system for managing and tracking Tribal Court case information. The system will allow the court to organize case records, charges, fines/fees, and related documentation within a single platform.
Another objective of the implementation is to provide structured access to court information through the RiteTrack Member Portal. By offering both public and secure portal access, the court will be able to share specific information such as the hearings calendar publicly while allowing authorized users to access information related to their individual cases.
